Description of alloy NH2829

New Material NH2829

NH2829, a cost-effective new material, is a high-performance heat-resistant alloy independently developed by Qingdao Xinlitong Industrial Co., Ltd., and has obtained a national invention patent (ZL202311060407.9). Through solid solution strengthening and second-phase particle strengthening, the NH2829 alloy exhibits excellent comprehensive properties and good long-term structural and performance stability.  Through optimized composition design, it saves nickel resources and offers a higher cost-performance ratio. It can completely replace alloys such as Cr28Ni48W5 in the manufacture of furnace rollers, radiant tubes, and other components used in high-temperature and corrosive environments, meeting the needs of long-term stable operation of high-temperature equipment. This not only creates greater value for the industry but also contributes to low-carbon environmental protection and green energy development.

Basic Performance

Basic properties of new material NH2829

Microstructure

NH2829 alloy is primarily composed of Cr, Ni, and W as alloying elements, with the addition of trace elements such as Co and Nb. Its microstructure consists of an austenitic matrix and NbC (white) and Cr₇C₃ (gray) carbides.

High temperature strength

Under high-temperature conditions of 1000℃ and 1100℃, the tensile strength and yield strength are significantly superior to those of the traditional Cr28Ni48W5 alloy, as shown in the following data.

Hardness

Hardness is an important indicator for measuring the wear resistance and anti-adhesion capabilities of an alloy. Through solid solution strengthening by W and Co elements, and dispersion strengthening by NbC and Cr₇C₃ second-phase particles, the hardness of the NH2829 alloy is significantly improved. The Brinell hardness of the NH2829 alloy is more than 25% higher than that of Cr28Ni48W5. This higher hardness effectively resists the adhesion and wear of oxide scale and foreign matter on the component surface, reduces the formation of deposits, extends the wear life of the component, and lowers maintenance costs.

High temperature creep properties

In terms of high-temperature endurance performance, the service life under equivalent conditions is superior to that of Cr28Ni48W5.

Under equivalent conditions, the creep elongation rate is approximately one-third that of the Cr28Ni48W5 alloy, and it exhibits superior bending resistance.
